Baird Inlet (C-8) Quad. Nelson island.
Matrix is a poorly bedded yellow-gray micaceous siltstone.
Description
Leaf: simple; symmetrical; elliptic (?); apex missing; base missing; margin entire; primary midvein moderate, more or less straight; secondary veins arising at an angle of 40-50° moderate to weak, more or less straight, branching once or twice, abmedial branches curved with increasing curvature towards the margin, looping round to join the superadjacent secondary or branch of secondary at an acute angle except near the base where the angle becomes obtuse; tertiary veins very indistinct, may be percurrent, straight, orthogonal to the secondaries.
Remarks
There is some indication that one of the more basal secondary veins is repeatedly branched abmedially, hence it may be regarded as a weak pectinal vein. The departure of the abmedials is however associated with deflection in the course of the 'pectinal'.
