Description

From Hollick (1930) (p. 39)

Plate 1, Figure 8.

"Frond branched, pinnate; pinnae dentate-pinnatifid, linear, tapering to the extremities, attached to the rachis by the obscurely decurrent bases, ascending, the midribs subtending acute angles with the rachis."

Remarks

From Hollick (1930) (p. 39)

"This specimen is hardly to be distinguished from certain of the many diverse forms that have been at one time or another referred to different species in the genera Pecopteris and Cladophlebis, especially the American Lower Cretaceous forms segregated by
Berry (1911) (pp. 307 - 322) and included under the one specific name Cladophlebis browniana (Dunker) Seward.

The particular species form that appears to resemble ours most closely is Pecopteris virginiensis Fontain (1889) (p. 82, pl. 8, figs. 1 - 7; pl. 9, figs. 1 - 6; pl. 24, fig. 2; pl. 169, fig. 3) from the lower part of the Potomac group of Virginia, from which it differs far less than many of the other forms differ between themselves."
