"This leaf is similar to Platanus latior subintegrifolia (Lesquereux) Knowlton (1898) (p. 170 [=Platanus primaeva subintegrifolia Lesquereux, The flora of the Dakota group: U. S. Geol. Survey Mon. 17, p. 73, pl. 9, figs. 3, 4, 1892.]) from the Dakota sandstone of Kansas. It is obscurely trilobate, however, with apparently coarser dentition than in Lesquereux's variety, thus indicating a form intermediate between the latter and P. latior grandident (Lesquereux) Knowlton (1898) (p. 170 [=Platanus primaeva grandidentata Lesquereux, op. cit., pl. 9, figs. 1, 2])."
