Introduction
This is the gateway page to illustrations of the specimens recovered from Cretaceous and Paleoecene rocks in Alaska and Northeastern Russia. Not every illustration is accompanied by the same level of data regarding locality, age and conventional latin names. Some have only morphotype (Form) codes as identifiers. This is because formal names are missing from the original specimens or the material has yet to be studied and described. Such specimens are nevertheless included here to give as complete an overview as possible of the diversity of plant fossil forms found in the Arctic.
A guide to the image page layout, naming and Form identifiers is given here.
Images are grouped by age, taxonomic name, collections and collector. For access to images arranged by locality please use the Maps pages.
Age
Here the images are grouped based on the age of the rock units in which the fossils occur. Some rock units have limited stratigraphic (age) range which with others the age range is less well defined. For this reason the age bins are of different sizes with different age ranges.

Collections
The fossils in this catalogue are housed in several institutes in the USA and Russia. Images from these various collections and accessed here. Collector
The material imaged in this catalogue was collected by numerous field geologists and paleobotanists, representing years of field time in remote locations. Here the images are arranged according to the collectors.
