Lower Colville River, Locality 86/54

Kogosukruk Tongue of the Prince Creek Formation. This is a continuation of locality 86/52. At the base of the section is a brown mudstone overlain by 25 cm of brown mudstone reminiscent of a seat earth. This gives way to a 65 cm thick brown clay overlain by a 1.3 m thick gray silty clay with ironstone nodules at the base mostly barren of plant debris. This unit becomes an live color towards the top before giving way to a brown carbonaceous mudstone (25 cm thick) with abundant plant debris. This mudstone lenses with a beige clay. The plant debris partly consist of twigs. From out in the river it can be seen that this section is the base of a 2.6 m thick crossbedded succession possibly indicative of point bar deposition. This is the same unit with the ironstone at locality 86/53.
