The only example of the extinct seed ferns in the North Pacific region during the Late Cretaceous belongs to the order Caytoniales and is known as Sagenopteris. Sagenopteris is the reticulate veined leaf form of Caytonia, a seed bearing structure with some similarities with the angiosperms. | |||
